How it works
From URL to report in three simple steps.
Enter your URL
Paste any website address. No account, no browser extension, nothing to install.
We crawl it server-side
Our crawler follows your internal links and checks every outgoing link for 404 errors and dead pages, respecting robots.txt and per-domain rate limits along the way.
Get a shareable report
Watch broken links stream in live, then export the full report to CSV, Google Sheets, Google Docs, or PDF to share with your team.
Why fixing broken links matters
Dead links quietly cost you traffic, trust, and revenue. Here’s what you stand to protect.
Protect your SEO ranking
Search engines crawl your links too. Dead links waste crawl budget and signal a poorly maintained site, dragging down your rankings.
Keep visitors happy
Nothing breaks trust faster than a 404. Working links keep people moving through your site instead of bouncing to a competitor.
Preserve your credibility
Broken links make even a polished site look neglected. Clean links signal that your content is current and trustworthy.
Stop losing conversions
A dead link on a pricing page, CTA, or checkout flow is a leak in your funnel. Fix them and recover sign-ups and sales you didn't know you were losing.
Everything you need to clean up your links
Every crawl saved
Your scan history is stored automatically, so you can compare crawls over time and watch broken links disappear as you fix them.
Broken link monitoring
Set up a scheduled monitor and get an email alert the moment a new dead link appears on your site. No more manual re-checking.
Export anywhere
Send your broken link report to CSV, Google Sheets, Google Docs, or PDF to share with your team or clients.
Live streaming progress
Results stream in as the crawl runs. No spinner-and-wait; broken links appear the moment they're found.
Edit before you export
Remove links you don't care about, with undo and restore, so your report contains only what matters.
Free, no setup required
No account, no API keys, no install. Paste a URL and start checking for broken links in seconds. The crawler honours robots.txt and throttles requests per domain.
Frequently asked questions
Is this broken link checker really free?
Yes. You can scan a website for broken links for free, with no account or sign-up required. Signing in (also free) saves your crawl history and unlocks a scheduled site monitor.
What counts as a broken link?
Any link that returns an HTTP error such as 404 (Not Found), 410 (Gone), or a 5xx server error, as well as links that time out or fail to resolve. These are also called dead links.
Will it check my whole site for broken links?
The crawler follows internal links from the URL you provide and checks every outgoing link it finds, up to 1,000 pages per scan. If the limit is reached, you'll be told in the report.
Can it monitor my website for broken links automatically?
Yes. Scheduled monitors re-crawl your site on a recurring schedule and email you when new dead links appear, so you don't have to remember to re-check.
Are my past crawls saved?
Yes. Every crawl is saved to your scan history when you're signed in, so you can revisit old reports and track broken links over time.
Can I export the results?
Yes. Every report can be copied as a table or saved as a PDF for free, and you can export to CSV, Google Sheets, or Google Docs on the Pro plan.
Does it respect robots.txt?
Yes. The crawler honours your robots.txt rules and throttles requests per domain so it doesn't overload your server.
